Successful proof of concept of naoo in Switzerland as a strong basis for international rollout and further expansion of the platform
Feed impressions also show good growth to more than 16 million per month
Zug/Zurich, February 08, 2024 - naoo, the new, unique social media platform, continues to grow at a rapid pace and has doubled its number of users again in just 6 months. The 50,000 app downloads mark was broken at the beginning of February. Numerous well-known Swiss influencers from the fields of sport, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, comedy and cooking are already represented on naoo, some with exclusive content. Among others, you can already find big names such as sports presenter Annette Fetscherin (Swiss Television SRF), celebrity chef David Geisser, motorcycle influencer Michi Stuntrider or the Swiss Travel Guide "Der Praktikant".
The success of naoo is based on a unique social media concept: unlike usual social media, all users ("naooies") are rewarded for their contribution to the community. Content and interaction are rewarded with so-called naoo points. Depending on availability, these naoo points can be exchanged for vouchers for goods or services or cash. Currently, 2,000 naoo points can be rewarded with 100 Swiss francs. In addition, naoo offers unusually extensive interaction options with detailed surveys and various gamification features - in addition to the standards that users are used to from other platforms.
Karl Fleetwood, COO of naoo: "naoo is the first social media platform worldwide that rewards all users for their content. When naooies contribute to our platform with their content, their meaningful profiles and their opinions, we want to give them something in return. We reward both influencers with a wide reach and normal users who contribute to naoo. With social media, everyone who gets involved should benefit. 50,000 downloads of the naoo app are a great success, because so far we are only represented in Switzerland with a total of around 9 million inhabitants."
The result of naoo's unique concept is authentic content that provides users with a comprehensive and genuine social media experience with a strong local flavor. Accordingly, monthly impressions are also increasing exponentially. In January 2024, they amounted to 16 million.
The innovative naoo concept reaches all age groups in Switzerland. The 18 to 24 age group accounts for 29% of users, 33% are between 25 and 34 years old, 21% are between 35 and 44 years old and 17% are 45 years or older.
In Switzerland, naoo is already a relevant social media player and the platform continues to grow at a rapid pace and with high quality content. In the coming months, further interactive features with user incentives will gradually go live on naoo and the platform will be continuously expanded. The ambitious expansion strategy also includes market entry in other countries. The next target market is Germany, where the rollout is scheduled to begin in 2024. Corresponding preparations are already underway.
In its growth strategy, naoo can rely on an experienced team with a high level of expertise in the areas of community building, social media and e-commerce. The founder of naoo, Dr. Thomas Wolfensberger, also has expertise in building fast-growing companies. Among other things, he founded a successful fintech company and created a Swiss real estate group with more than 27,000 residential units. He completed his doctorate on virtual communities back in 2002.
Dr. Thomas Wolfensberger: "With naoo, we don't want to change social media by subtle nuances, we want to take it to the next level. Behind this is a new understanding of user involvement and the linking of the virtual and real worlds. The success in Switzerland proves that the approach works and inspires people. Now we are ready for the next expansion steps."
