Zug, February 29, 2024 - naoo, the pioneering platform in the Swiss social media sector, known for its authentic and locally inspired content, announces a significant technical achievement by implementing the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) in cooperation with Nordcloud, a renowned IBM Group company and official AWS partner. This strategic partnership has enabled naoo to greatly improve its backend infrastructure, reduce operating costs by 75% and scale the platform's capacity to several million users at a constant cost.

Thanks to this partnership, naoo was not only able to realize a significant cost reduction, but also establish a future-oriented architecture. The introduction of the Neptune Graph DB has improved query times in the context of social connection processing by up to a factor of 10. These far-reaching technological improvements help naoo to implement new functions more quickly and serve an ever-growing user base more efficiently. In parallel, naoo has started the AWS Migration & Modernize phase, enabling naoo to invest even faster in the modernization and expansion of its infrastructure.

Andrei Osminskii, AWS Solutions Architect and lead software engineer at naoo, explained: "We wanted to develop a solution that would enable naoo to efficiently process highly connected social data and reach millions of users with very fast response times. The migration from SQL to a graph database was a significant project as we also redesigned the entire storage layer. The results have been phenomenal: our users experience up to 10 times faster load times, while our infrastructure costs have dropped by 75%. In addition, the graph database is a great foundation for further UX improvements such as AI-based content recommendations."
